I vote for the plan where you smuggle Wayne onto the island in the dead of night, Macgyver style. You can bring the drone and launch it at daybreak so Wayne can keep an eye on the Customs guys from his hiding place. You’ll hire a team to crane the engine into place w/ Wayne talking into your earpiece. Cue the spy music and the race is on! Would make a great movie - Good luck!
This is an amazing story and a predicament to solve. I love all your creative solutions outlined. We will be holding you in our thoughts as you get through this stumble.
Hey Christine -- Have enjoyed your Kalymnos pieces. A lovely island indeed. Debbie and I were there for a week or so a few years back while I was on a magazine assignment. Stayed in Emporios in a guest room above Restoran Artistico, the end of road. Hung out with goat shepherds up in the hills, went diving in that chilly water, did a bit of rock climbing and busted my flatlander ass. Miss it immensely, especially in these times. Hope this finds all well in your world, other than the whole exile/visa thing. Keep punching.... Bob Morris

How often we find quirks adding consternation to our life abroad.
