I vote for the plan where you smuggle Wayne onto the island in the dead of night, Macgyver style. You can bring the drone and launch it at daybreak so Wayne can keep an eye on the Customs guys from his hiding place. You’ll hire a team to crane the engine into place w/ Wayne talking into your earpiece. Cue the spy music and the race is on! Would make a great movie - Good luck!

Absolutely! We already have the ear pieces. And Barney and Ruby could patrol the decks- Barney even has a little black doggy shirt the says SECURITY in big white letters.

Thanks Sherry. On Monday, I hope to learn whether or not they will give us the time now to install the engine. Fingers and toes crossed!

How often we find quirks adding consternation to our life abroad.

Hey Christine -- Have enjoyed your Kalymnos pieces. A lovely island indeed. Debbie and I were there for a week or so a few years back while I was on a magazine assignment. Stayed in Emporios in a guest room above Restoran Artistico, the end of road. Hung out with goat shepherds up in the hills, went diving in that chilly water, did a bit of rock climbing and busted my flatlander ass. Miss it immensely, especially in these times. Hope this finds all well in your world, other than the whole exile/visa thing. Keep punching.... Bob Morris

Kalymnos really is a special place. When we had our grandkids visit, we rented a car and drove out to Emporios. Such a beautiful little village. We ate lunch at the Pirates of Kalymnos restaurant just to the east of Emporios. At that time, I dreamed of getting to take our boat around to that side of the island and anchoring in one of the little coves there. Now, whenever we get back there, it will be to install the engine and start to make our way west. Since we'll be out of Schengen time, it will probably be along the coast of North Africa. Should be interesting.
