Congratulations on your change of life new adventures. I’m excited for you both.

I will always miss living on a island in Maine and the community island life that can be so rich. Nearly 20 years and it was time for a change for many reasons. Hopefully you will meet like minded souls on Saturn Is. You are slightly closer to your siblings Chris. I will live out my days in Maine 15 miles inland. We have many lakes, mountains and plenty of water and weather. Life is Good

Peace be with you and Wayne

Christine and Wayne - Congratulations on making the transition from sea to land life. You are doing it in style. I am envious of that work shop, and I have no doubt that Wayne will soon have it humming. Diane and I both wish you continued good health in your journey. Wade and Diane Alarie on SV JOANA.

Thanks for the good wishes, Wade. We are so appreciative of our good fortune in being able to move so fast with these lifestyle changes. If you ever make it out to BC, we have a guest room and you two would be most welcome. I look forward to hearing about your time in Tunisia.

Hello!! So happy to read this. Just the other day I was telling my husband that I haven’t seen an update from you in a while. Happy that all is well and that you and Wayne are “settled” for now. Take care and I love the new place.

Hello, and thank you for sharing. I have only just discovered you on Substack and can’t wait to read more of your writing. Your post reminded me of how much sailors dream big and live fully. May your next adventure continue to fill your cup...

Thank you Stacy, and welcome to a fellow nomad. Amels are some of my favorite boats! I subscribed back to your Substack, and I look forward to reading more. I'm also a former online English teacher, but I retired from Broward College over 10 years ago. Once we get our Ambo livable, we've got our hearts set on visiting the Sea of Cortez, so we might cross paths one day.

Amazing! Thanks for the update and congratulations on finding a situation that makes you happy. It's a big change from cruising the high seas and living aboard. I hope you keep writing though!

Thanks! And I will absolutely keep writing. The max time I can stay in Canada in any year is only 6 months, so we intend to continue the nomad life for half the year. And the adventure of living on a small island in Canada should give me a few things to say, as well. :-)

Hi Christine,

It’s so good to read of your ongoing journey & the way you and Wayne have pivoted from adventures on Möbius to a new home and a whole new set of projects. (I thought of you guys the other day wondering what had happened since you last posted. I’d also been thinking that complex projects like building boats or homes or whatever are a form of tonic for the brain and keep us engaged &maybe just a little more youthful.)

It looks like we are almost neighbors!

We often anchor in Winter Cove in our boat (TUGAWAY) and we were just there on 28 December. It’s a lovely, very special retreat.

It would be great to meet you in person sometime if you are up to that.

Cheers,

-Evan

Hello neighbor! Sorry I missed seeing your boat in Winter Cove. I often walk that way to get my steps in. Given that my first mystery series is about a female tugboat captain, I have a fondness for the tug style trawlers. Next time you are coming this way, drop us an email.

Christine & Wayne: You are an inspiration to those of us leading more sedentary lifestyles. I loved Christine's books, your travels from Turkey on Mobius, and now your land-based travails.

Stay well in your new digs.

Thanks so much, Al. It's funny, I was talking with Wayne the other day about how I think my teenage experience with theater and all those improv skits we used to do in Tom Moore's classroom are what makes it easier for me to write dialogue in my fiction. Back then I thought I wanted to be an actress, but little did I know it was good training for a novelist.
